History

Sean Sullivan played for St. Sebastian’s School where he served as team co-captain. In his final season at St. Sebastian’s in 2002-03, Sullivan led all New England Prep defensemen in scoring with 39 points (nine goals, 30 assists). He won the Travis Roy Award, which is given annually to the Most Valuable Player of the St. Sebastian-Tabor Academy Game. Sullivan was also named to the All-New England Team in the 2002-03 season and was an All League Selection in both the 2002-03 and 2001-02 seasons.

Sean Sullivan just wrapped up his collegiate career with the Boston University Terriers. Upon his exit, the Terriers team captain was named to Hockey East's first team and earned the league's best defensive-defenseman award. Reflective of his entire career at BU, Sullivan has been a silent hero for the Terriers. At the collegiate level these past years, there are few other defensemen who can play with such smarts, poise and tenacity while protecting their own zone.

Talent Analysis

Sullivan is solid positionally. At 6’0, he is average in height but his frame could use some bulking up. Sullivan is an outstanding skater who transitions very well and has good acceleration. He possesses an outstanding work ethic and is not afraid to get involved in the physical aspects of the game. He is an aggressive checker who is very good at clearing bodies from in front of his team’s net. He follows plays and anticipates quite well. Sullivan has shown some remarkable patience with the puck and possesses a good, hard shot. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, he is willing to jump up to join in offensive situations.
