A true leader on and off the ice, Chvanov has also an excellent work ethic, which leads him to commit a lot and fight hard, some features not always easy to find in Russian players. He also has a very good playmaking game and stickhandling, thus meaning that he can play in both scoring and checking lines. Besides, he's a very good penalty killer because of his commitment and hard working style. But he has to work on his overall offensive game and on his skating.
