2008-09: Beck had an excellent summer and it shows in his play this season. In 67 games with the Guelph Storm (OHL) the winger has netted 22 goals and 58 points, more than doubling his numbers from last season. He represented Team Orr in the 2009 Top Prospects game where he scored one goal.

HF's January 2009 Q&A with Beck.

2009-10: In his third season with Guelph, Beck broke out with 39 goals, 54 assists for 93 points in 61 games. He added 3 goals and 3 assists in 5 playoff games. Beck made his debut in the OHL's All-Star game, was a Second All-Star team honoree at the end of the season, and was awarded Jim Mahon Trophy as the top scoring right winger in the OHL.

2010-11: Beck signed a three-year, entry level contract with Nashville in August 2010. He made his pro hockey debut late in the season, playing a dozen games with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals, after completing his fourth junior season with Guelph. Beck scored 2 goals with 1 assist and was an even plus/minus with 2 PMs in his stint with the Admirals (which included eight playoff games). He was the OHL's seventh-leading scorer, netting 42 goals with 53 assists and was +3 with 60 PMs in 62 games. Beck scored 16 power play goals. In the Storm's six-game playoff series with Saginaw he scored 3 goals with 5 assists and was +1 with 10 PM.

Talent Analysis

Beck is a budding power forward, with a willingness to go to the net. He has demonstrated his goal scoring ability at every level thus far, and has shown in training camp that he has the ability to be a force to be reckoned with. Beck has the talent to be an elite scorer, though his skating could still use some work.

Future

Beck will compete for a spot on the NHL roster in training camp. However, he will most likely spend his season in Milwaukee.
