2011-12: Eronen had a career-high 27 points in his third season with Jokerit in Finland's SM-Liiga. He scored 9 goals with 18 assists and was plus-one with 12 penalty minutes; appearing in 46 of 60 games. After struggling early in the year, Jokerit was one of the top teams in the league in the final two months, finishing sixth and reaching the SM-Liiga playoff semifinals. Eronen was plus-four and scored 1 goal with 3 assists in 10 playoff games.
Eronen is somewhat undersized for a defenseman and is not often physically involved in the game. He is a plus offensive player though, with great offensive instincts, a smooth skating stride, and the ability to run a powerplay effectively.
Eronen will play his fourth season for Jokerit in the SM-liiga and should put up better offensive numbers as he runs the team's power play. He could be signed to an NHL entry contract before the summer deadline if the smart defender can improve his overall game on the defensive side of the ice.
