History

2007-08: This was Vincour’s first season with Edmonton (WHL), and he proved to be quite successful. In 65 games, the forward managed to record 39 points (16g+23a). He also played in five games for Team Czech Republic at the WJC U-18 racking up 13 points (2g+11a) and winning several team honors, including Best Forward and Best Plus/Minus (+11).

2008-09: Vincour registered 17 goals and 19 helpers for a total of 36 points in 49 games with the Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL) this season. He finished with a +2 plus/minus rating. He also played in six games for Team Czech Republic at the WJC U-20, registering three helpers along the way.

2009-10: Vincour split the season between the Edmonton Oil Kings(WHL) and the Vancouver Giants(WHL). In 33 games with the Oil Kings he finished with 17 goals and 9 assists. With the Giants he finished at a near point-per-game pace, scoring 12 goals and adding 10 assists in 24 games. He carried his strong play into the playoffs, scoring 7 goals and pitching in 6 assists in 15 playoff games with the Giants. He also suited up for the Czech Republic’s U20 Team, picking up 4 assists in 5 games.

2010-11: Due to a rash of injuries to the Dallas forward corps, Tomas Vincour’s first pro season unexpectedly saw him spend two-dozen games at the NHL level.  He wasn’t particularly high scoring at the AHL or NHL level (12 points in 44 games in the AHL, 2 points in 24 NHL), but he was a fairly effective player.  Vincour played lower lines minutes and didn’t look too out of place.  His big body and ability to work the cycle made him an asset to the Dallas lineup.  He struggled to convert his chances and find open spaces in the faster game, but he didn’t look overwhelmed by the game.

Talent Analysis

Sizeable, powerful forward with good hockey sense.  He has good instincts at both ends of the ice and has the makings of a responsible player.  Can play the physical game along the wall and he uses his body to protect the puck well.  A fine player on the cycle and going to the front of the net.  Has a good shot but needs to assure himself that he’ll find space on NHL ice to release it.  Not the best skater in the world, a bit plodding but he gets to where he has to go.

Future

May see some more AHL time for seasoning but will be at the very least an NHL call-up in 2011-12, if not full-time.

Potential: 2nd line goal-scoring power forward.
