History

2007-08: A trade to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons prior to the 2007-2008 season really pushed Tyler Gron to the next level offensively in the AJHL. Gron scored 39 goals this past season, 6 more than top prospect Joe Colborne and good enough for 3rd in the AJHL. Gron was coveted by a handful of WHL clubs over the past two seasons but has stuck with his committment to Northern Michigan University.

Talent Analysis

Tyler Gron has a knack for finding the back of the net. He combines an impressive set of hands with above average speed and strength.  He is incredibly difficult to knock of the puck and will often be seen taking the puck away from an opponent with a solid body check.  He has a tedency to attempt to make an extra move or two and would most likely benefit from shooting a little bit more.  From the hashmarks down he is deadly and is one of the best in junior hockey at working the puck out from the corner and behind the goal line.  Will become extremely difficult to contain once he brings his top game on a nightly basis as he has a tedency to dissappear at times.
