Talent Analysis
Simmonds has a lot of raw skills that make him a very interesting prospect as he develops. A good skater with a solid shot, he is also not afraid of physical play and is willing to drop the gloves in defense of his teammates despite his thin frame. Also has a leader-type mentality
Future
Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2007 Entry Draft as a relative unknown, Simmonds did not appear on any radar or scouting service information at the time of the draft. Even though Simmonds was drafted very high, he is a wait and see prospect at this point as he is very raw. The Kings appear convinced that he can be a physical forward prospect with a great deal of upside.
