The Avalanche prospect pool isn’t exactly ripe with players ready to make the jump to the NHL. However, there are a few underrated prospects who could blossom into future stars for the team if their development continues on the same track.

It’s not a deep pool, but when it comes to NHL-drafted goaltenders in the OHL, quantity takes a back seat to quality.
The OHL is graced by two elite netminders atop the rankings, another one knocking on that lofty door, one middling prospect, and a potentially quality prospect who, unfortunately, has to take an incomplete grade due to an injury. Read more»

The OHL has long been known for providing elite offensive forward talent to the NHL. Defensemen facing that type of player on a regular basis should result in a comparable coterie of elite defensive prospects whose talents have been honed by facing such formidable opposition. Read more»
