Two rookie goaltenders with NCAA pedigrees squared off in the first NHL start for each, but only one could come away a winner. The victorious goaltender, Mike Condon of the Montreal Canadiens, outdueled Ottawa Senators rookie Matt O’Connor to give the undefeated Canadiens a 3-1 win. Arizona Coyotes forward Justin Hodgman has spent the past several years competing in seemingly every hockey league and hockey-playing country trying to achieve his goal of competing in the top hockey league, the NHL.
