Finland's top five-man unit at the 2014 World Junior Championship was very effective, with that group posting 39 points in total over that country's seven-game run to the gold medal.

After Canada's loss to the Czech Republic in the preliminary round of the 2014 World Junior Championship, head coach Brent Sutter elected to start U20 WJC first-timer Zach Fucale in place of Jake Paterson. The move seemed to make a difference for the Canadians as they won out in the preliminary round to take the top seeding in Group A.

While his season with the Frolunda Indians of the SHL hasn't been an offensively productive one, Team Sweden forward Sebastian Collberg is doing at the 2014 World Junior Championship what he has done at previous WJC's, namely generating offense.

With the clock winding down in regulation and the score deadlocked at 2, Sweden forward Jacob de la Rose drifted towards the front of the Russian goal to deflect a shot by Gustav Olofsson past Russia's goaltender Andrey Vasilevskiy to give Sweden the 3-2 lead and the win at the 2014 World Junior Championship.
