With the final full month of the 2012-13 regular season drawn to a close and the conference standings slowly coming into focus, February saw many great NHL prospect performances. Hockey’s Future takes a look back at some of those feats, along with other newsworthy items from around college hockey. Unless otherwise noted, all statistics are current as of Feb. 28.

Mitch MacMillan found himself in a predicament around this time last year.
He was not getting playing time at St. Cloud State and had left the school right before Christmas Break, roughly halfway through the 2011-12 season.

It wasn’t all too long ago that Cornell senior captain Nick D’Agostino was passed up in his OHL draft year, but that motivation has helped the Big Red defenseman develop into the player he is today.

The name Yale typically brings to mind students in argyle sweaters walking to class on paved walkways with a spiral notebook in hand. Alumni of the university have gone on to be U.S. Presidents, Supreme Court Justices and Academy Award winning actors. Samuel Morse and Eli Whitney call it their alma mater. Sinclair Lewis and Tom Wolfe do, as well.
