This one was almost a no-brainer.

Ryan Strome’s phenomenal performance in the month made him the easy selection as the Hockey’s Future Prospect of the Month for November.

With the announcement of the move to the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn to start the 2015-16 season, the future of the New York Islanders is suddenly very optimistic. The team has stockpiled talented prospects over the past several years and many of them are starting to look like promising NHL players.

The New York Islanders prospect pool is loaded with talent from top to bottom. General Manager Garth Snow has done an excellent job of stockpiling a deep pool of very promising prospects. At almost every position there is a player with the upside to emerge to the top of the depth chart, which is tremendous for the future of a struggling franchise such as the Islanders. Only time will tell however whether these prospects can put everything together and reach their potential.

New York Islanders GM Garth Snow selected defensemen early and often in 2012, using all seven picks to bolster their blue line. His seven picks included a prospect from each of the three Canadian major junior leagues, one from Finland, and two other American born blueliners.

Bloodlines may or may not make a difference in hockey, but the New York Islanders might think so as they used the fourth overall selection at the 2012 NHL Draft on Edmonton Oil Kings defenseman Griffin Reinhart.
