The New York Islanders got a glimpse of their future at the end of the 2013-14 NHL season. Decimated with injuries, the Islanders had many rookies in their lineup by the end of the year, including Anders Lee and Ryan Strome.

Maybe second is the new first, at least when it comes to the NHL Draft Lottery, the latest of which took place on Tuesday evening. In the prior two lotteries, the 29th-ranked club ended up with the first selection, and that trend held in the 2014 edition as this season's 29th club, the Florida Panthers, ended up walking away with the first selection overall in the 2014 NHL Draft.

Forward Taylor Cammarata is part of the University of Minnesota’s excellent group of freshmen that have been significant contributors to the team’s march to the National Championship game this season. The Plymouth, MN native currently ranks third on the team in rookie scoring with 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 37 games to date.
