Five games, five wins, gold medals and a trophy signifying the championship of the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Championship is the bounty that Team Canada will be heading home with after a successful week in Breclav, Czech Republic. The Canadian squad made a perfect 5-0 run through the preliminary and playoff rounds to win their eighth straight Ivan Hlinka, and their 20th win in 25 years of this tournament in its various incarnations. A big opening period for Team Canada was all they needed to secure their eighth consecutive gold medal at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. The Canadians pumped four goals past Sweden’s starting goaltender, Filip Gustavsson, in the opening frame, then opened that lead up to 6-1 after two periods before winning the 2015 championship game by a 7-3 score.
