In this week’s Prospect Faceoff, we take a look at Quebec Remparts goaltender Callum Booth, who has been the team’s saving grace during a rough stretch. He will be opposed by a former first overall pick, Daniel Audette, who has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. The Barrie Colts are one of the top teams in the OHL’s Eastern Conference. They boast an impressive offense with Kevin Labanc (SJS) leading the league in scoring, and Julius Nattinen (ANA) and Andrew Mangiapane (CGY) providing secondary scoring. In this week’s Prospect Faceoff, two OHL players who were traded for each other go one-on-one against their old teams for the first time . We’ll check in with Daniel Sprong and Mikko Rantanen, who both enjoyed valuable time in the NHL this year. The “Battle of Pennsylvania” gets a glimpse of the future when prospects of the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins go head-to-head, and two of the WHL’s finest defenders are heading in different directions.

2016 NHL Draft: Top skaters remain unchanged but a new pair of goaltenders emerge in ISS February rankings

Change has come to ISS Hockey’s February rankings for the 2016 NHL Draft, but not within the Top 10 or much of the Top 30, for that matter. Instead, the significant change has taken place in the goaltender rankings, where the top two goalies from the January rankings have been displaced by a new duo. Read more»

The NHL All-Star weekend is always a fun event and this year, a number of the league’s brightest personalities entertained the fans in Music City. It may have been hard to top his red carpet outfit, but Brent Burns‘ son stole the show this weekend. In addition, the CHL/NHL Top Prospect Game took place and Victoriaville Tigres forward Pascal Laberge took center stage, possibly improving his draft stock in the process. Also, a pair of goaltenders show off their quickness, an enigmatic forward strikes again, plus goals by the Wolverines captain and one of the NLA’s top scorers. Read more»
