Rem Pitlick knew he had put on weight before he stepped on the scale during the preseason for the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks.
Pitlick just wasn’t sure how much. He had weighed 169 pounds at the end of the 2014-15 season. His focus in the offseason was adding muscle to his 5-foot-7 frame, but he never bothered to weigh himself. Read more»
Jackson Keane has put his dual citizenship in Canada and the United States to use as a hockey player.
Keane utilized his Canadian citizenship by playing at home in Winnipeg for much of his teen years. He especially shined at the 2015 CJHL Prospects Game last year and earned MVP honors as a member of Team West. Read more»
The Lincoln Stars were a team divided on and off the ice last season, and their record indicated that.
The Stars finished in last place in the USHL’s Western Conference with an 18-37-1-4 record in the 2014-15 season. A year later, the Stars have addressed their issues, unified and turned their play around. At the USHL’s halfway break, the Stars sat atop the Western Conference with a 19-14-1-0 mark. Read more»
A lot changed for the USHL’s Dubuque Fighting Saints on Dec. 4th.
The Saints were playing the Omaha Lancers on the road on that date. The Saints were on a three-game losing streak, and coach Jason Lammers decided to alter his lineup. He put Nathan Sucese, Shane Kavanagh and Willie Knierim together on a line, and not just that line, but all the lines began clicking. That line scored two goals and combined for 14 shots on net in a 3-2 win against the Lancers. Read more»
