The New York Islanders have built up a solid group of prospects in recent years, with the payoff being just their third playoff appearance in the past 10 seasons. In this week’s playoff edition of Prospect Faceoff, all three CHL leagues have series that are facing pivotal fifth games. Meanwhile, with the NCAA on hiatus, there’s a strong NAHL matchup featuring two college recruits worth keeping an eye on. Also, the SHL’s juggernaut squad in Skelleftea may have an opportunity this weekend to advance to the finals with one more win, but a top prospect for a rival will have something to say about that. Harvard’s Vesey tops among NHL-drafted forwards competing in the NCAA

The 2014-15 NCAA hockey season has featured a number of excellent forward prospects, especially among the underclassmen.

This year’s ranking of NHL-drafted forwards competing in D1 hockey features 11 players (two are tied for 10th) representing nine NCAA programs and nine NHL teams. Among the NCAA teams, Miami and Michigan each have two players in the top 10, while the Buffalo Sabres and Chicago Blackhawks are tops among NHL teams with each club having two prospects on this year’s list.
