No news is good news if you're Kootenay Ice center Sam Reinhart, at least when it comes to the ISS Hockey December rankings for the 2014 NHL Draft. Reinhart is holding steady as the top-ranked prospect for the coming year's draft, a position he has held in these rankings for the four releases that ISS Hockey has produced in the 2013 portion of this season.

The same could be said for the top eight player's in this month's rankings since it was the same octet in the same order that held the top eight slots in the November ISS rankings. In fact, nine of the top 10 slots consist of players that appeared in last month's top 10. The lone newcomer to the top 10 this month is center Jared McCann of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. McCann moved up seven positions, from #16 to the ninth-rated prospect.

Among the remaining prospects in the December top 30, center Conner Bleackley of the Red Deer Rebels made a nice move up the charts, from #21 in November to #13 this month. But making the biggest jump, from #44 to #24, is Guelph Storm forward Robby Fabbri.

Two more new entrants into the top 30 were U.S. NTDP left winger Sonny Milano, who moved up from #33 to #16, and Russian forward Vladislav Kamenev, who moved up one position to land the 30th slot.

In goal, the top netminding prospect according to ISS Hockey was once again Finland's Kaapo Kahkonen. Grabbing the second slot this time around was Boston College goalie Thatcher Demko, while Saginaw Spirit netminder Nikita Serebryakov moved up to the third position from last month's #8 showing. Plymouth Whalers goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic dropped a couple of positions to #4, while Russian goaltender Ivan Nalimov made his top five debut at #5 based off his strong showing in the 2013 Subway Super Series.

Below is the top 30 draft prospects for December as ranked by ISS Hockey.
