Edmonton Oilers‘ rookie forward Leon Draisaitl made Friday a memorable night for third overall NHL Draft picks as the big German scored his first NHL goal in a 6-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Draisaitl’s goal ended up being the game-winner late in the third period as he deposited a rebound of his own shot into the net past Hurricanes’ goaltender, Anton Khudobin.

Earlier in the evening, 2013 third overall pick Jonathan Drouin scored his first NHL goal. Draisaitl was the third selection at the 2014 NHL Draft.
