Carolina Hurricanes‘ rookie forward Victor Rask netted the first goal of the game – and the first NHL goal of his career – in the Hurricanes’ surprising 3-2 win over the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Los Angeles Kings.

Rask completed a three-way passing play off of a break into the Kings zone, tipping in a goalmouth pass from linemate Chris Terry to give the home team a 1-0 lead.

The Leksand, Sweden native was chosen by the Hurricanes in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft. Rask is currently ranked fifth among the Hurricanes’ prospects by Hockey’s Future.
