67’s’ Petr Mrazek Named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week

By League Press Release

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that goaltender Petr Mrazek of the Ottawa 67’s is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 4.  In two starts Mrazek won two games posting a goals-against-average of 1.41 and a save percentage of .954.

Mrazek won two straight games to give the 67’s a 2-1 series lead over the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.  He began by making 26 saves in the 7-2 win on Saturday night in Game two, and followed that up with a 36 save performance including 14 saves in the third period as third star of a 2-1 overtime win in Game three on Sunday.  Mrazek got the call to start between the pipes following a 67’s 4-1 loss to the Majors in Game one Thursday night.

Mrazek, an 18-year-old from Vitkovice, Czech Republic, is completing his rookie season with the 67’s after being selected 30th overall in the 2009 CHL Import Draft.  Eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Mrazek is also this year’s recipient of the OHL’s F.W “Dinty” Moore Trophy presented to the rookie goaltender with the lowest goals-against-average posting a mark of 2.94 in 26 regular season games.
