It has been a tough start for Team USA at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. The goals have been few while the penalty minutes have been plentiful, which is rarely a recipe for success at any level.

The leading scorer for the U.S. is forward Ben Lown, who has registered two assists in two games as of Tuesday. After Lown, a handful of players have one point apiece, not surprising given the low output for the American squad this time around.

Lown, a 5’6″, 150-pound center is the lone representative on the U.S. squad that will be competing in the NAHL in the 2015-16 season. He is slated to play for the Wichita Falls Wildcats for at least one season after having competed for the Colorado Thunderbirds program in 2014-15. Lown will attend Miami University beginning in 2017.

Hockey’s Future spoke with Lown following the USA’s loss to Russia, with that conversation being included in this HF video.
