Sound Tigers Continue The Attack

Bridgeport, CT. – The Bulldogs and the Sound Tigers played a more physical game than on Friday. “It’s a tight checking series,” said Sound Tigers forward Trent Hunter “That’s only going to get tougher.” The game saw three different boarding penalties called, two against the Sound Tigers in a time span of under two minutes.

After a scoreless first period the Sound Tigers had the only goal of the second period when Justin Mapletoft scored his fifth goal of the playoffs with Eric Godard and Raffi Torres picking up the assists. “Mapletoft is confident with the Puck,” stated Sound Tigers Head Coach Steve Stirling “He’s patient and proud.”

In the third period with less than half a period to play the Bulldogs tied the game when Kevin J. Brown scored his second goal of the playoffs. The Sound Tigers responded with the game winning goal with 5:42 left in regulation time when Trent Hunter scored his first of two goals in the game. Hunter added the game clinching goal on the empty net forty seconds left in the game. “The line just gelled and is firing on all cylinders.” Said Hunter.

The Bulldogs were 1 of 7 on the power play, goaltender Ty Conklin made 21 saves on 23 shots, and they had 6 penalties for 12 minuets. The Sound Tigers were 0 of 4 on the power play, goaltender Rick DiPietro made 15 saves on 16 shots, and they had 9 penalties for 18 minutes.
