Signed by the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Atlanta Thrashers as a free
agent in July of 1999. Optioned to Orlando on September 15, 1999.
Led the Owen Sound Platers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with 94 points
(27 goals, 67 assists) last season. Was tied for 12th in the league in
scoring. Accumulated 110 penalty minutes (PIM).One of only three OHL players
in the top 25 scoring leaders with over 100 PIM’s. Earned his team’s Most
Valuable Player award.

Speedy whirlwind with good puck skills, Snyder is a smart player with good
acceleration in his stride. He is considered an unselfish player with a good
scoring touch around the net.
Dan is known to have excellent vision on the ice and is an excellent
playmaker. He is known to be a good faceoff man and already has good
defensive awareness. He doesn’t initiate physical play, but will not shy
away from it in front of the net or along the boards.

Dan finsihed 8th in rookie scoring during the playoffs with 1 goal and 2
assists for 3 points in 6 games and finished 9th in rookie scoring during
the regular season with 25 points on 12 goals and 13 assits.


On december 13, 1992 Manon Reahume becomes the first female to play in a
regualar season professional game. Manon starts the second period at the
Omni in Atlanta and gives up 1 goal on six shots.


June 17, 1989 Mats Sundin becomes the first European to be chosen first
overall at the NHL entry draft.


The youngest player inthe 1997-98 European Hockey League was Michal Sivek of
Sparta Praha of the Czech Republic. Michal was 17 years old.
