OHL Press Release

Wojtek Wolski of the Brampton Battalion scored two goals and added an assist to help the Eastern Conference to a 9-3 win over the Western Conference in the Bell OHL All-Star Classic in Belleville on Wednesday.

“That was fun,” said Wolski, the Team East player of the game. Wolski was also a standout in the Skills Competition and Three-on-Three Game on Tuesday.

Justin Donati of the Toronto St. Michael’s Majors also had two goals and an assist playing on a line with Wolski. Chris Stewart of the Kingston Frontenacs scored two goals while Jordan Owens of the Mississauga IceDogs and Peterborough Petes teammates Steve Downie and Jamie Tardif also scored for Team East. Bryan Little of the Barrie Colts and Jordan Staal of the Petes each chipped in with two assists.

Tom Pyatt of the Saginaw Spirit opened the scoring, giving Team West an early lead. He scored again in the third period. Ryan Callahan of the Guelph Storm also scored for the West.

It was the Eastern Conference’s first win in the All-Star Game since 1999 in Sarnia. The West won in Mississauga in 2000 and claimed back-to-back wins when the series resumed in 2004 in Peterborough and last year in Owen Sound. On Wednesday, the clubs combined for an All-Star Game record 100 shots.
