Yeomans named WHL Player of the Week

Calgary – The Greyhound WHL Player of the Week is goaltender Derek Yeomans of the Kelowna Rockets. Yeomans earned player of the week honours by recording a 0.67 goals against average, a 0.962 save percentage and three wins, including a shutout during the week of January 30th to February 5th.

On Wednesday, February 1st, Yeomans stopped all 16 shots he faced in a 2-0 shutout win against the visiting Everett Silvertips. On Friday, February 3rd, Yeomans made 18 saves in a 3-1 win against the Cougars in Prince George.

On Saturday, February 4th, Yeomans recorded 17 saves in a 3-1 road win against the Prince George Cougars.

Yeomans, a 19-year-old native of St. Albert, Alberta, is a free agent.

Honourable mention goes to Reid Jorgensen of the Kamloops Blazers.
