Derek Yeomans Named the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Kelowna Rockets goaltender Derek Yeomans is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday February 5 after picking up three wins last week over some stiff WHL competition.

Yeomans, a 19-year-old native of St. Albert, Alberta posted a goals against average of 0.67 and a save percentage of .962 last week. Derek started off the week with a 2-0 shutout win over the Everett Silvertips. Yeomans followed up that strong performance with a pair of 3-1 victories over the Prince George Cougars on Friday & Saturday to help the Rockets pick up three big victories over a pair of tough Western Conference rivals. Yeomans is in the top 10 in save percentage, goals against average, wins & shootouts amongst WHL goaltenders.

Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL’s top netminder at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.
