Dallas’ Third-Round Pick in 2004 Draft Signs Entry-Level Deal

FRISCO, Tex. — Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has signed left wing John Lammers to a three-year entry-level contract. Lammers was selected by Dallas in the third round of the 2004 Entry Draft (No. 86 overall) and spent the 2005-06 season with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League.

“We are very pleased to have reached an entry-level agreement with John Lammers,” said Armstrong. “He has progressed a great deal as a player in the Western Hockey League and we are excited about his future development potential with our organization.”

Lammers, 20, led Everett in points (75) and goals (38) in 2005-06 and ranked second on the club in assists (37). Among Western Hockey League leaders, Lammers was fourth in power play goals (16), tied for sixth in game-winning goals (7) and shorthanded goals (4), seventh in overall goals and tied for ninth in points. In 15 WHL playoff games in 2005-06, Lammers posted five goals and six assists for 11 points with 12 penalty minutes. An assistant captain for Everett in 2005-06, he was named WHL Player of the Week on Oct. 30 and won the team’s season MVP award.

The Langley, B.C. native has played in 206 career WHL games, posting 93 goals and 106 assists for 199 points with 110 PIM. He has skated in 20 WHL playoffs games, recording 11 points (5-6-11) and 14 penalty minutes. He spent his first four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The 5-foot-11, 184-pound left wing captained Team Canada at the 2004 World Under-18 Championships, scoring three goals in seven games, and appeared at the 2004 CHL Top Prospects Game.
