Oshawa, Ont — Bryan Little of the Barrie Colts scored 6:42 into the third period to lift Team OHL to a 4-3 win over the Russian Selects in Game 4 of the 2006 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge on Monday, November 27th in Oshawa, Ontario.
It’s the second win for Team OHL over the Russian Selects, improving the CHL to a perfect 4-0 record versus Russia at this year’s event. The Russian Selects dropped two games to Team QMJHL last week in the first leg of the event.
Ryan O’Marra of the Erie Otters, Saginaw’s Patrick McNeil and Oshawa’s own John Tavares also scored for Team OHL, who improve to 8-0 versus Russia in the four-year history of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge.
Dmitry Zyuzin, Denis Kazionov and Andrey Kiryukhin scored for the Russian Selects, who managed to erase a 3-1 deficit in the second period.
Goaltender Steve Mason of the London Knights made 29 stops to earn the win for Team OHL, while Llya Proskuryakov stopped 32 of 36 shot he faced in a losing cause.
The Russian Selects will head west for two games versus Team WHL on Wednesday, November 29th in Chilliwack, B.C., and on Thursday, November 30th in Kamloops.
