In Team USA's Day 2 win over Russia at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, the star of the game was goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. The Russians sent 37 shots on goal in the game, with Nedeljkovic stopping 35 of them to get the win.

Nedeljkovic spent the 2012-13 season with the OHL's Plymouth Whalers, his first season in that league. He spent the regular season as a backup to former Carolina Hurricanes prospect, Matt Mahalak. But, in the Whalers run to the Western Conference final during the OHL playoffs, Nedeljkovic was the go-to guy in goal for his club. The Parma, OH native appeared in 15 playoff games, posting a 2.71 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.

With Mahalak now dealt to the Kingston Frontenacs, Nedeljkovic will enter the 2013-14 season as the Whalers starting goaltender.

Nedeljkovic spoke with Hockey's Future following the win over Russia, a conversation that is captured in this HF video.
