While his Kingston Frontenacs teammate, Spencer Watson, was the scoring star for Team Canada at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, Canadian forward Sam Bennett managed to chip in some points of his own, as well as some solid prognosticating skills.

Bennett made the equivalent of the Mark Messier “guarantee” when he predicted that Team Canada would defeat whichever team they faced in the gold medal game. And Bennett was indeed correct as the Canadians wrapped up their sixth consecutive gold medal at this event with a 4-0 win over Team USA.

For his part, Bennett contributed more than just sage predictions as he notched three goals and one assist in five games for Canada. The Richmond Hill, ON native is becoming accustomed to winning gold at the U18 level as he was also a part of Canada's gold medal squad back in April at the 2013 U18 World Junior Championship.

Bennett spoke with Hockey's Future following Canada's win over Russia, a conversation that is captured in this HF video.
