History
Archer played his junior hockey for Oshawa and Guelph of the OHL. Turned pro in 2003-04.

Played most of 2003-04, his rookie year, with the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs, following hernia surgery. Played a few games with the ECHL Columbus Cottonmouths as well.
Talent Analysis
Archer is a mobile, stay-at-home defenseman with good lateral movement. Uses his reach to his advantage. Particularly during 1 on 1 situations. He has shown the ability to improve from year to year.
Archer has a strong, right-handed shot, which makes him a guy who can play on the power play if necessary.
