Marody committed to playing college hockey at the University of Michigan in 2015-16 in December 2013.

Michigan defeated Notre Dame, 3-2, in overtime in the NCAA Midwest Regional semifinals before falling to the Fighting Sioux, 5-2.
Talent Analysis
Drafted late, Marody could become a steal. Marody is a good player who’s faced adversity throughout his career. He’s a skilled forward and cares about his defensive game. But there’s still a long way for Marody, a Michigan recruit, to develop.
Future
Marody made a smooth transition from the USHL to college hockey in 2015-16, scoring 10 goals in a lower line role for the University of Michigan as a freshman. With several Wolverines moving on to pro hockey, including outstanding freshman Kyle Connor (WPG), Marody should have a more prominent role as a sophomore. He projects as a second or third line center with some scoring ability at the pro level.
