Talent Analysis
One of the top goaltending prospects in the 2015 NHL Draft, Sandstrom is a technical goalie who appears to favor the butterfly technique. He spent most of his time in his draft year with Brynas U20, but missed much playing time due to injuries.
Future
Sandstrom played in Sweden's SHL as an 18-year-old in 2015-16, splitting the goaltending duties for Brynas. He also skated for Sweden in the 2016 World Junior Championship. Sandstrom made steady progress in his first pro season and his physical tools and technical skills suggest he has the potential to be an NHL starter.
