Talent Analysis
Lauzon is a gritty defenseman who isn’t afraid to jump in on the rush. He is an intriguing player; he can find the back of the net, having scored 15 goals in his second year in junior hockey, and is fairly responsible in his own zone. He’s a bit of a risk taker, however, and needs to refine his defensive game.
Future
Lauzon attended his first NHL training camp with the Bruins before returning to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at the start of the 2015-16 season. He skated for the QMJHL all-stars in the Subway Series against Russia and was signed to a three-year entry-level contract by Boston in November 2015. Playing for a dominant Huskies' team, he is one of the leading scorers amongst QMJHL defensemen. Those numbers may be inflated playing for a dominant team but with his ability to move the puck forward and solid skating Lauzon projects as an effective offensive defender.
