History
2013-14: Tyson Jost played for the Okanagan Rockets of the BCMML. Jost led the Rockets and the league in scoring, scoring 44 goals and 44 assists for 88 points in 36 games. Jost continued his strong offensive play in the playoffs, posting 9 goals and 9 assists in 7 games for the BCMML champions. He was named to the BCMML All-Star Team following the season. Jost also played in 3 games for the Penticton Vees of the BCHL, where he went pointless. Jost was chosen in the 8th round, 120th overall, of the 2014 USHL Futures Draft by the Bloomington Thunder.
2014-15: Jost competed in his BCHL rookie season with the Penticton Vees. In 46 games for the Vees, Jost scored 23 goals and added 22 assists for 45 points. In 21 postseason games for the Vees, Jost scored 10 goals and added 4 assists for 14 points as the Penticton went on to win the BCHL championship. Jost was named to the BCHL All-Rookie Team for his efforts. Jost competed internationally for Canada West at the 2014 World Junior A Challenge, where he scored 2 goals and added 1 assist in 4 games. Jost committed to the University of North Dakota for the 2016-17 season.
2015-16: Jost returned to the Penticton Vees for his second BCHL season. In 48 games for the Vees, he scored 42 goals and chopped in 62 assists for 104 points, which ranked third overall in the BCHL. Jost won the Vern Dye Memorial Trophy as the BCHL’s Most Valuable Player. Jost competed in international play for Canada, first taking part in the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament where he scored 3 goals in 4 games for the gold medal-winning Canadian squad. Jost also competed for the gold medal-winning Canada West squad at the 2015 World Junior A Challenge where he scored 3 goals and added 6 assists for 9 points, a total that led all tournament scorers. Jost was named the MVP of the tournament, and was named to the WJAC All-Star Team, as well. Jost starred for Team Canada at the 2016 U18 World Championship, where he led the team in scoring and was one of the top forwards in that tournament. Jost was ranked 15th overall among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting in their midterm rankings for the 2016 NHL Draft. He was ranked 15th overall by ISS Hockey in their March rankings. Jost was chosen in the first round, 10th overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche.
